Head-On Accident near Santa Fe Avenue in Stanislaus County Kills Woman and Teen Girl

 
STANISLAUS COUNTY, CA (April 30, 2021) – A woman and a teenage girl died in a head-on accident near Santa Fe Avenue and Keyes Road Wednesday, April 28.
 
The accident happened just before 8:00 a.m. According to the California Highway Patrol, a Chevrolet SUV entered the northbound lane while heading south along Santa Fe Avenue. It then collided head-on into a large Dodge Ram flatbed pickup truck that was heading in the opposite direction.
 
Both the driver and passenger of the SUV were rushed to a hospital, where they later succumbed to their injuries. Their names have not yet been released, but officers identified them as a 48-year-old woman and 16-year-old girl from Denair.
 
Meanwhile, the driver of the pickup suffered moderate injuries.
 
Investigators do not know if the victims were wearing their seatbelts at the time of the crash, and it is unknown if drugs or alcohol were involved.
 
CHP officers are continuing to investigate the incident.
