Head-On Crash on El Portal Drive in San Pablo Kills Two and Leaves One in Critical Condition

 
SAN PABLO, CA (December 8, 2023) – Two people were killed in a head-on accident on El Portal Drive in San Pablo early Thursday morning on December 7.
 
The fatal accident happened around 12:40 a.m. near Glenlock Street. According to the San Pablo Police Department, a man and a woman were in a silver BMW that was speeding east on El Portal when it clipped a truck. The BMW then veered head-on into a Chevrolet Camaro.
 
As a result of the crash, the man died at the scene. He was the driver of the BMW. The woman was his passenger, who also succumbed to her injuries at Highland Hospital in Oakland.
 
Authorities withheld their identities pending notification of their next of kin.
 
Meanwhile, the driver of the Camaro remained was in critical condition.
 
It is unknown at this time if alcohol or drug use played a role in the crash. Further investigation is underway.
