Transit Bus Involved in Accident on Maria Drive at East Washington Street in Petaluma

 
PETALUMA, CA (June 27, 2022) – At least two people suffered injured in an accident involving a Petaluma transit bus on Maria Drive on June 23.
 
According to the California Highway Patrol, the accident happened at East Washington Street around 7:23 AM.
 
Based on a report, the bus was traveling southbound on Marie Drive when it left the roadway. Subsequently, it struck a fence and continued southbound. Then, it hit a traffic control box and a power pole before coming to rest near Creekside Circle.
 
As a result, the bus driver and the only passenger on board suffered minor injuries in the collision.
 
Also, the incident knocked out power to the neighborhood. Fortunately, PG&E was able to restore power quickly to most of its customers.
 
The Petaluma Police Department shut down Creekside Drive and eastbound East Washington to one lane to give way to a clearing operation.
 
In the end, officers asked anyone who witnessed the crash to call the Petaluma Police Department’s Traffic Unit at 707-778-4372.
