Street Racing Road Rage Crash on 91 Freeway in Corona Sends 2 Drivers to Hospital

CORONA, CA (May 4, 2023) – Two people were hospitalized after a road rage crash on 91 Freeway in Corona Sunday evening on April 30.

The crash happened around 10:14 p.m. just west of Main Street. According to the California Highway Patrol, a gray Ram pickup and a silver Toyota sedan may have been racing when they collided along the westbound freeway. After the crash, the drivers got into a fight inside a construction area in the center divider.

Witnesses told the CHP the pickup overturned after the crash.

One driver was taken to Corona Regional Medical Center and the other was taken to Riverside Community Hospital.

The pickup truck sustained major front-end damage and the sedan had extensive rear-end damage.

An investigation is underway.

Avoid road rage drivers by changing lanes safely. Gradually slow down or even exit the highway to keep a safe distance from the aggressive driver. Ignore the temptation to respond to the other driver since it could cause the situation to escalate.
