Suspected DUI Driver Injures 2 CHP Officers in Crash on 15 Freeway in Hesperia

 
HESPERIA, CA (April 1, 2024) – Two CHP Officers were injured in a DUI crash on 15 Freeway in Hesperia early Saturday morning on March 30.
 
The crash happened around 4:35 a.m. about a mile before the Bear Valley Road exit. According to the California Highway Patrol, a suspected DUI driver collided into their patrol car while they investigated a separate collision along the 15 Freeway.
 
The two CHP officers were inside their vehicle parked in the slow lane, attending to a gray Honda Accord sedan that had spun out hit the concrete wall.
 
While waiting for the Honda to be towed away, a white Toyota Camry sedan rear-ended their patrol car.
 
As a result, both officers sustained minor injuries and were transported to a local hospital.
 
The driver of the Camry was arrested for driving under the influence of alcohol or other substances.
 
An investigation is ongoing.
