NIPOMO, CA (April 1, 2024) — A man died in a solo-car accident near Orchard Road and Faith Drive.
 
According to the California Highway Patrol, the fatal single-car crash happened early Wednesday. For an unknown reason, a 37-year-old man driving a 2003 Honda Accord lost control. Subsequently, the Honda appeared to have driven off the road and crashed into a field.
 
At some time after the crash, a witness found the Honda unoccupied and a man who appeared to have been ejected from the vehicle. Soon after, CHP officers arrived around 7:22 a.m. and confirmed one fatality. Authorities believe he was making an unsafe turn while speeding. However, authorities have yet to identify if impairment factored into the crash.
