Two Airlifted after Motorcycle Accident on Highway 18 [Apple Valley, CA]

Two Rider Injured in Apple Valley Motorcycle Crash on Highway 18 and Milpas Drive

 
APPLE VALLEY, CA (March 24, 2022) — Two people sustained injuries in a motorcycle accident on Highway 18 on Wednesday, March 23.
 
The incident occurred at around 3:44 p.m. on Highway 18 and Milpas Drive. The initial reports said a white Toyota Camry, was stopped and waited to turn left onto Milpas. At the same time, the motorcycles traveling eastbound were unable to stop in time.
 
One of the bikes crashed into the back of the car and possibly caused the other bike to go down.
 
Firefighters from the Apple Valley Fire Protection District responded to the scene. They reported there were two motorcycles and two riders down in the roadway.
 
Firefighters said they had two critical patients and asked two helicopters to land in the dry lake bed.
 
Reach 13 and Mercy 2 airlifted the injured riders to Arrowhead Regional Medical Center. Three occupants from the Camry were not hurt and turned down medical transport.
 
Officials closed Highway 18 in both directions for around one hour.
 
California Highway Patrol investigates the official cause of the accident.
