Driver of Stolen Truck Flees Crash Scene in Sonoma County

 
SONOMA COUNTY (September 6, 2023) — A 74-year-old woman sustained injuries in a hit-and-run collision near Calistoga and Alpine Roads.
 
According to the California Highway Patrol Santa Rosa, the incident happened on Wednesday morning at around 11:38 a.m. The driver of a stolen septic truck lost control and then rolled over onto the road. Subsequently, it crashed head-on with an oncoming Mercedes-Benz SUV. The 74-year-old female driver of the SUV suffered major injuries, the CHP reported.
 
Meanwhile, the male driver of the stolen septic truck fled the scene prior to the arrival of the authorities. As of Thursday evening, no updates about the suspect driver were available. The authorities urge anyone possessing information regarding this crash to contact 707-588-1400.
