Two Injured, One Arrested Following Police Pursuit in Bakersfield

 
BAKERSFIELD, CA (April 17, 2023) — Two people suffered injuries in a collision at Truxtun Avenue and Oak Street in Bakersfield Sunday morning.
 
According to reports, an attempted traffic stop led to a police pursuit that ended in a collision at the said intersection. The Bakersfield Police Department said an officer initially tried to pull over a female driver for a code violation. However, she fled the scene, prompting a chase.
 
The pursuit came to an end at around 9:30 a.m. when the driver collided with another vehicle. Both drivers sustained minor injuries and were transported to a hospital. The female suspect is currently in police custody for evading officers.
 
Meanwhile, officials had to divert eastbound traffic on Truxtun Avenue at Oak Street during the investigation.
