Homeless Woman Dies after Struck by DUI Driver on Fresno Street at Cambridge Avenue

 
FRESNO, CA (February 5, 2024) – Thuong Duong was killed in a DUI pedestrian crash in Fresno on January 28.
 
The fatal crash happened around 6:00 p.m. on Fresno Street at Cambridge Avenue. According to the Fresno Police Department, a car was traveling southbound on Fresno approaching Cambridge when it struck Duong who was crossing the street outside of the crosswalk.
 
The impact caused Duong fatal injuries and she died at the scene. She was 51 years old and was homeless, according to the Fresno County Coroner’s Office.
 
Detectives learned that speed was not a factor in the crash, but the driver was found to be under the influence of marijuana.
 
Investigators said the driver was not at fault for the crash, but was cited for DUI charges.
