Head-On Crash on Highway 65 in Placer County Kills Man and Two Women

 
PLACER COUNTY, CA (August 1, 2023) – Three people died in a head-on accident on Highway 65 in Placer County Sunday evening on July 30.
 
The fatal accident happened just before 9:00 p.m. near Riosa Road. According to the California Highway Patrol, a Toyota Camry was heading southbound on the highway when it crossed the double-yellow lines into the northbound lane. It then crashed head-on into a Kia Sorrento and a Subaru Forester.
 
As a result, the driver of the Camry was pronounced dead at the scene. She was only identified as a a 53-year-old Rocklin woman.
 
Paramedics rushed the three occupants of the Subaru to hospital, where two of them also succumbed to their injuries. They were only described as a 66-year-old woman and a 62-year-old man, both from Marysville.
 
The third person in the Subaru was in critical condition.
 
The only occupant in the Kia suffered moderate injuries.
 
At this time, the cause of the crash and factors involved remain under investigation.
