18-Year-Old Fatally Struck in Pedestrian Accident on 42nd Street West and West Avenue L

 
LANCASTER, CA (September 28, 2022) — An 18-year-old man died after a pedestrian accident on 42nd Street West on Sunday, September 25.
 
According to California Highway Patrol, the incident happened at about 10:07 p.m. on 42nd Street West and West Avenue L.
 
A CHP report said the pedestrian walked within the westbound traffic lane of Avenue L, just west of 42nd Street West. Then a 2004 Honda Element moving westbound on Avenue L struck him.
 
The Honda driver was not able to stop the vehicle in time and the accident caused fatal injuries to the pedestrian. Authorities have not yet released the pedestrian’s name. However, they described him as an 18-year-old male from Lancaster.
 
Officials identified the driver as 52-year-old Robert Moreno of Lancaster. He did not sustain injuries in the crash.
 
Authorities ruled out alcohol/or as a factor in the incident.
