Teen Suffers Critical Injuries after Hit by SUV near Fifth Street in Oxnard

 
OXNARD, CA (August 31, 2023) – An Oxnard teen was critically injured in a pedestrian accident near Fifth Street and Patterson Road late Sunday evening.
 
The accident happened around 11:40 p.m. on August 27, just near the Oxnard Airport. According to the Oxnard Police Department, the female teen was crossing the street when a westbound Chevrolet Avalanche hit her.
 
As a result, the teen suffered multiple injuries. Paramedics took her Ventura County Medical Center where she was listed in critical condition.
 
Police said the driver of the SUV, a woman from Port Hueneme, stayed on scene and cooperated with police.
 
Officers said they did not believe alcohol was a factor in the crash.
