SOUTH LOS ANGELES, CA (July 31, 2023) — Police are seeking several suspects involved in a high-speed police chase crash on 29th Street and Vineyard Avenue.

According to reports, the high-speed pursuit began around 11:00 a.m. Friday. After identifying a stolen vehicle in South LA, Los Angeles police tried to initiate a traffic stop. However, a high-speed pursuit unfolded, lasting for only two minutes.

Under unclear specific events, the suspect vehicle, described as a white Kia Soul, crashed into at least two other vehicles and knocked over a fire hydrant.

Authorities responded to the scene to find water gushing out of the hydrant, but the suspects were nowhere to be found. Authorities right now do not have a description of the suspects.

Moments later, another multi-vehicle crash occurred at Farmdale Avenue and Jefferson Boulevard involving at least one LAPD Cruiser. However, officials do not know if the two incidents are related.

Get home safely by making more responsible choices behind the wheel. Speeding is never a way to get home. You increase the likelihood of crashing your vehicle. Take your time and prioritize your safety. Share the road with others and follow the rules of the road.
