Sudipta Sarkar Hospitalized, Isaiah Coleman Uninjured in Fatal Big Rig, Car Crash on Highway 101 near Lost Man Creek Trail

 
ORICK, CA (November 30, 2023) — Sudipta Sarkar suffered major injuries in a deadly semi-truck accident on Highway 101 near Lost Man Creek Trail.
 
According to the California Highway Patrol, the deadly crash happened around 8:30 a.m. Monday. For unexplained reasons, a southbound 2015 Audi Q5 crossed into the northbound lane. Subsequently, it began traveling toward the path of a northbound Freightliner and plowed into it.
 
Soon after, medical professional responded and confirmed a front-seat Audi passenger dead and another Audi passenger deceased at a hospital. Officials do not have their names available.
 
Meanwhile, medical personnel airlifted Sudipta Sarkar — the Audi driver — and another passenger to Mercy Hospital in Redding with major injuries. Additionally, they took a juvenile in the Audi to St. Joseph Hospital in Eureka with moderate injuries.
 
As for Isaiah Coleman — the semi-truck motorist — he reported no injuries in the crash.
 
Although traffic investigators ruled out drugs and alcohol as possible factors, they will look further into this accident to identify an explanation.
