Minor Sustains Injuries after Hit by Vehicle on Anderson Avenue in Winters

 
WINTERS, CA (March 26, 2023) – A student was injured in a pedestrian accident on Anderson Avenue in Winters Thursday morning on March 23.
 
The accident happened around 7:55 a.m. between Cottage Circle and Hemenway Street. According to the Winters Police Department, the driver of a vehicle was heading eastbound on Anderson Avenue and was unable to stop before hitting the student.
 
Police said the minor crossed the street outside of the crosswalk lines and the car had the right-of-way.
 
Arriving paramedics took the middle-school-aged student to an area hospital in an unknown collision.
 
Police do not believe that the driver was under the influence of alcohol and/or drugs. Further investigation is underway.
