SANTA MARIA, CA (September 29, 2023) — One student was injured in a bus accident at Mahoney Road and Rayville Lane.
 
According to a district spokesman, the bus crash happened around 7:30 a.m. Thursday. For an unknown reason, a Santa Maria Joint Union High School District bus and a car crashed at the intersection.
 
As a result, one student suffered minor injuries, complaining of shoulder pain. Soon after, the student sought care at Marian Regional Medical Center.
 
Following the crash, a second school bus responded to the scene to transport the remaining students to Santa Maria High School.
