Steven Kniffen Killed in Rollover Accident on Minto Way [Hemet, CA]

SUV Overturns near Minto Way in Hemet Killing One and Seriously Injuring Another

 
HEMET, CA (December 12, 2022) – Steven Kniffen was killed in a rollover accident in Hemet Friday afternoon on December 9.
 
The accident happened around 3:50 p.m. near the intersection of Minto Way and Sage Road. According to the California Highway Patrol, a Lincoln Navigator apparently lost control while traveling at an unknown speed. It then overturned alongside Minto Way.
 
Riverside County Fire Department crews responded and found two people trapped inside the SUV.
 
Firefighters freed the victims and pronounced Kniffen dead at the scene.
 
Kniffen was 59 years old from Hemet. It is unknown if he was the one driving the car or a passenger.
 
The other victim was taken to a regional trauma center with major injuries.
 
At this time, the exact cause of the crash and factors involved remain under investigation.
