91-Year-Old Woman Fatally Struck by Hit-and-Run Driver near USC in LA

 
LOS ANGELES, CA (August 8, 2021)Soon Kim died in a pedestrian hit-and-run crash in Los Angeles Monday morning.
 
The fatal crash happened around 7:00 a.m. on August 2, near Ellendale Place and Adams Boulevard. According to the Los Angeles Police Department, the 91-year-old woman was walking with an aid across the entrance to an alley in the University Park area near USC.
 
A pickup truck loaded with bulky materials was backing out of the alley and apparently did not see Kim. The truck backed over her.
 
The female driver stopped, got out and looked at Kim’s body on the ground, and moved the truck out of the roadway. After about three minutes, she got back into the truck and drove away from the scene, leaving Kim’s body in the street.
 
Responding paramedics rushed Kim to a nearby hospital, where she later died.
 
A reward of up to $50,000 is available for information leading to the driver’s arrest and conviction.
