Crash with Freightliner Truck in Lancaster Kills Driver and Seriously Injures Two Passengers

 
LANCASTER, CA (May 2, 2024)Sherril Joanne Del Rosso died in a two-vehicle accident in Lancaster Tuesday morning on April 30.
 
The fatal accident happened around 7:22 a.m. on Highway 138 at 90th Street West. According to the California Highway Patrol, a 2005 Toyota was traveling southbound on 90th Street West when it collided with a 2015 Freightliner truck that was heading westbound on the highway.
 
Del Rosso, who was the driver of the Toyota, died at the scene. She was 66 years old, according to the Los Angeles County Department of Medical Examiner. Her city of residence was unknown.
 
Two juvenile passengers in the Toyota were airlifted to Northridge Hospital Medical Center with major injuries.
 
Meanwhile, the driver of the Freightliner sustained minor injuries and was taken to Antelope Valley Medical Center.
 
Alcohol or drugs are not suspected to be a factor in the crash. An investigation is underway.
