Shawn Warren Dies when Paving Equipment Failed in Placerville Accident On The Job

 
PLACERVILLE, CA (September 20, 2021) – Shawn Warren was killed in an accident on Indian Creek Road in Placerville Tuesday.
 
The accident happened just before noon on September 14. According to the El Dorado County sheriff’s investigators, the 44-year-old victim was finishing a job on Indian Creek Road when a hatch on a pressurized air tank on a paving equipment failed. Warren’s family owns Van’s Paving and Grading based in Placerville.
 
A resident in the area Lanie Scott told investigators that she was watching TV when she heard a massive explosion that shook the whole house. She and other neighbors went outside to see what had happened. Then they saw a tree trimming crew that had been working nearby running toward Warren. A minute later, they heard sirens.
 
Mike Warren, Shawn’s father, was on scene not long after. He said he gave Shawn CPR before medics arrived but he could not be revived. He said Shawn was assisting a crew to complete sealing on Indian Creek Road.
 
Shawn leaves behind a wife, 13-year-old daughter and twins, an 11-year-old son and daughter.
 
An investigation into this accident is ongoing.
