36-Year-Old Shantel Hamilton Dies after Merced Hit-and-Run on 26th Street and G Street

 
MERCED, CA (June 8, 2022) – Authorities identified 36-year-old Shantel Hamilton of Merced as the woman killed in a hit-and-run on 26th Street on Monday evening.
 
According to the Merced Police Department, the incident happened on June 6 at about 9:00 p.m. Due to unknown circumstances, a vehicle hit Hamilton while she was riding a scooter near the intersection of 26th Street and G Street.
 
Emergency crews transported Hamilton to a hospital, where she later died.
 
However, the driver of the vehicle immediately left the area without rendering aid.
 
Investigators described the suspect vehicle as a 2011 to 2014 Grey BMW 5, possibly with frond-end damage.
