MEAD VALLEY, CA (January 3, 2022) – Several people sustained injuries following a rear-end accident on Cajalco Road, Thursday morning.
 
According to the California Highway Patrol, the incident happened on December 30, at about 11:00 a.m. A dark-colored Mazda sedan slammed into the rear of a white Nissan Altima near the intersection of Cajalco Road and Decker Road.
 
The impact of the collision caused the Mazda to overturn and land on its roof. As per reports, the Nissan sustained major rear-end damage and ended up blocking the roadway.
 
Several people were injured in the collision. However, the number of people injured and the extent of their injuries remain unknown.
 
CHP continues to investigate the cause of the accident. Officers will release additional information once it becomes available.
