SUV Overturns on Highway 99 in Tipton Injuring Seven People Including 9-Year-Old Boy

 
TIPTON, CA (November 21, 2023) – Seven people were hospitalized in a rollover accident on Highway 99 in Tipton Sunday on November 19.
 
The accident happened just before noon near Highway 190. According to the California Highway Patrol, a GMC Yukon when the 19-year-old driver tried to get into the fast lane. For unknown reasons, they jerked back into the slow lane, hitting a fence and rolling over.
 
As a result, all seven occupants in the GMC, including a 9-year-old boy, were taken to a hospital with unspecified injuries.
 
The child was in the backseat was not wearing a seatbelt and was ejected into a field.
 
The area was recently plowed, limiting damage.
 
Officers said drugs and or alcohol are not considered factors in the crash, which is still under investigation.
