Police Arrest Serina Ali for DUI after Crashing into Another Vehicle in Yuba City Killing the Driver

 
YUBA COUNTY, CA (October 26, 2022) – Police arrested Serina Ali for DUI after a deadly crash in Yuba City early Saturday morning on October 22.
 
The crash happened around 1:00 a.m. on Highway 20 at Humphrey Road. According to the California Highway Patrol, the 24-year-old suspect from Olivehurst was driving a 2020 Honda pickup truck at a high rate of speed when she failed to stop at the intersection’s stop sign. She then crashed into the driver’s side of a 2010 Dodge Charger heading east on the highway.
 
The Dodge driver, a 35-year-old Yuba City woman, died at the scene.
 
Ali sustained minor injuries. Her passenger – a 44-year-old woman – had major laceration injuries to her hand and leg as well as possible broken ribs.
 
Ali showed signs of alcohol intoxication and was arrested on suspicion of felony DUI. Police booked her into Sacramento County Jail on charges including gross vehicular manslaughter while intoxicated.
 
She was released the same day after posting $200,000 bail, jail records show.
 
An investigation is ongoing.
