Man in 70s Dies after Struck by Hit-and-Run Driver on 10th Street West in Lancaster

 
LANCASTER, CA (February 9, 2024) – A senior was killed in a hit-and-run crash on 10th Street West in Lancaster Wednesday evening on February 7.
 
The fatal crash happened around 7:30 p.m. just north of Avenue H. According to the Los Angeles County Sheriff’s Department, a man in his 70s was standing or walking in the middle of the southbound lane of 10th Street West when an unknown vehicle struck him.
 
After striking him, the driver of the vehicle continued without stopping.
 
First responders pronounced the man dead at the scene.
 
The Los Angeles County Department of Medical Examiner withheld the victim’s identity at this time.
 
It is unknown if speed, alcohol or drugs played a role in the crash. Deputies urged anyone with further information to call traffic investigators at the Lancaster Sheriff’s Station at 661-948-8466.
