3-Vehicle Collision on 60 Freeway Involving Semi-Truck

LOS ANGELES, CA (September 4, 2023) — A semi-truck collision on the 60 Freeway spilled about 90 gallons of diesel fuel Wednesday night.

The crash, which involved two other vehicles, occurred east of the 710 Freeway. The collision prompted the closure of all eastbound lanes. As a result, a significant traffic jam built up during the rush hour.

The Los Angeles County Fire Department said they received reports of the crash on the westbound 60 Freeway at around 3 p.m. They immediately dispatched fire crews to the scene.

Fortunately, the firefighters managed to contain the diesel spill quickly. However, the subsequent cleanup led to a more than two-hour closure of all westbound lanes that caused miles-long backup. Meanwhile, no injuries have been reported from the incident.

Exercise extreme caution on the roads. Always maintain a safe distance from large trucks and be aware of your blind spots to reduce the risk of collisions.
