Police Arrest DUI Hit-and-Run Suspect after Fatally Striking Bicyclist in Fairfield

 
FAIRFIELD, CA (January 1, 2023) – Police arrested Sean Miron after a deadly DUI hit-and-run crash in Fairfield late Wednesday afternoon on December 28.
 
The fatal crash happened shortly after 5:20 p.m. on Cordelia Road, just between Beck and Pennsylvania avenues. According to the Suisun City Police Department, Miron was driving a 2022 silver Chevrolet Silverado pickup eastbound when he struck a bicyclist.
 
After striking the victim, Miron drove away without rendering aid. He then struck a second vehicle and fled the scene of the crash.
 
The bicyclist, whose identity was not immediately available, died at the scene.
 
Shortly after, Suisun City police officers detained the 46-year-old suspect and his passenger, 22-year-old David Vernoonrojo of Suisun City.
 
Police booked Miron into Solano County Jail on charges of second-degree murder, DUI, hit-and-run resulting in death or injury, along with weapons charges. They said Miron had three prior DUI convictions and is a convicted felon who is prohibited from possessing a firearm. They also booked Vernonrojo on weapon charges.
 
Police are seeking additional witnesses or anyone who may have seen the suspects driving prior to the crash. Anyone with information is asked to call the Fairfield Police Department’s Traffic Unit at 707-428-7300.
