64-Year-Old Woman Dies after Struck by Hit-and-Run Driver in West Compton

 
WEST COMPTON, CA (April 11, 2022) – Sandra Flowers died in a hit-and-run crash in West Compton, late Saturday evening.
 
The fatal crash happened around 11:40 p.m. on April 9 near the intersection of Avalon Boulevard and Rosecrans Avenue. According to the California Highway Patrol, the 64-year-old victim from Compton was crossing Avalon in the middle of the roadway when an unknown vehicle struck her.
 
The driver of the vehicle then fled the scene, leaving Flowers in the roadway with fatal injuries.
 
First responders pronounced Flowers dead at the scene.
 
At this time, there is no information on the driver who remains at large and no description of the vehicle.
