43-Year-Old Man Suffers Major Injuries after Hit by Bus on Highway 129 near Harvest Drive
WATSONVILLE, CA (November 7, 2022) – Salvadore Aguirre was seriously injured in a pedestrian accident in Watsonville Friday evening on November 4.
The accident happened around 9:48 p.m. in the westbound lane of the highway, just west of Harvest Drive. According to the California Highway Patrol, the 43-year-old victim from Watsonville was walking in the westbound traffic lane when a bus hit him.
First responders rushed Aguirre to a local hospital for treatment of major injuries.
The driver of the bus, 44-year-old Terry Johnson of Santa Cruz, remained on the scene after the crash.
The CHP did not specify the owner of the bus. It is of a type that is in the Santa Cruz Metro fleet.
It is unknown if drugs or alcohol was a factor. Further investigation is underway.
