Ruben Rodriguez Killed in Fiery Accident on Highway 180 [Fresno County, CA]

Fiery Crash on Highway 180 near South Sonoma Avenue Kills Antioch Man

 
FRESNO COUNTY, CA (March 29, 2023) – Ruben Rodriguez died in a fiery accident in Fresno County Sunday evening on March 26.
 
The fatal accident happened just after 8:30 p.m. on Highway 180 near South Sonoma Avenue. According to the California Highway Patrol, the 47-year-old victim from Antioch was driving a Chevrolet westbound when he veered to the left and crossed over the center line.
 
Rodriguez then sideswiped a Ford Mustang going in the opposite direction and then crashed head-on with a Toyota Camry.
 
Rodriguez was thrown onto the roadway and the Chevrolet burst into flames. He suffered critical injuries and died at the hospital.
 
The man driving the Mustang and the unrestrained woman driving the Camry both sustained major injuries.
 
It is unknown at this time if drugs or alcohol played a factor in the crash. An investigation is underway.
