Royal Santos Arrested in DUI Hit-and-Run on West Avenue [Merced, CA]

Police Arrest 20-Year-Old Royal Santos for DUI after Hit-and-Run Crash in Merced

 
MERCED, CA (July 13, 2021) – Royal Santos was arrested for DUI after a hit-and-run crash in Merced Friday, July 9.
 
The accident happened on West Avenue near Gracey Elementary School and Lopes Avenue. According to the Merced Police Department, the 20-year-old man was driving a vehicle when he collided with another car. The impact caused Santos’ vehicle to overturn.
 
After the crash, Santos abandoned his vehicle. A female passenger in one of the vehicles suffered traumatic injuries to her arm.
 
Paramedics took the injured woman to a hospital for treatment.
 
Meanwhile, officers searched the area and found Santos in the 800 block of U Street. They determined that he was under the influence of alcohol at the time of the crash. They arrested and charged him with felony DUI and hit-and-run.
