Car Crashes on Ballard Canyon Road in Solvang, Driver Roberto Garcia Jr. Killed

 
SOLVANG, CA (September 15, 2022) – Roberto Garcia Jr. was killed in a car accident in Solvang area of Santa Barbara County on Monday evening, September 12.
 
The fatal accident happened around 10:17 p.m. in the 1400 block of Ballard Canyon Road. According to the CHP, a BMW sedan missed a turn and went off the side of the road. It then crashed into a fence and a tree before it landed on its roof.
 
Garcia Jr., a 19-year-old Solvang resident, was the driver of the car. The Santa Barbara County Fire crews took him to Santa Ynez Valley Cottage Hospital, where he later succumbed to his injuries.
 
Three female passengers, all from Santa Barbara County, suffered major to moderate injuries in the crash.
 
Drug and alcohol are not factors in the crash, which remains under investigation.
