Police Seek Hit-And-Run Driver Who Fatally Struck Pedestrian on Sunset Boulevard in Hollywood

 
HOLLYWOOD, CA (September 15, 2022) – A pedestrian was killed in a hit-and-run crash on Sunset Boulevard in Hollywood on Monday evening, September 12.
 
The fatal crash happened around 8:45 p.m. near McCadden Place. According to the Los Angeles Police Department, a white 2018 Audi S5 was traveling westbound on Sunset Boulevard when it struck the pedestrian, who was lying in the roadway.
 
After striking the victim, the driver continued west on Sunset and made a U-turn. The suspect then exited the car, flagged down an LAPD officer and directed the officer to the pedestrian before re-entering the car and fleeing eastbound on Sunset.
 
Responding paramedics pronounced the pedestrian dead at the scene.
 
Authorities could not say why the person was lying in the roadway prior to the crash. The victim’s name was withheld pending notification of next of kin.
 
At this time, an investigation is ongoing.
