Robert Lopez Dies in Hit-and-Run Bicycle Crash on River Road near Ryder Way

 
MODESTO, CA (August 10, 2021) — Robert Lopez died in a hit-and-run bicycle crash on River Road near Rider Way on August 2.
 
According to the California Highway Patrol, the hit-and-run accident happened around 7:30 p.m. For unknown reasons, a westbound driver in an early 2000’s Chevy Tahoe or GMC Yukon struck Robert Andres Lopez, who was pedaling in the same direction.
 
Following the accident, the driver of the SUV left the scene.
 
Sometime after the crash, the owner of the vehicle willingly spoke to the CHP. After giving investigators a statement, authorities released him.
 
At this time, the case remains under investigation. Although, if anyone has more to add to this crash, please contact the CHP.
