Motorcyclist Dies after Rear-Ending Pickup Truck in Borrego Springs
BORREGO SPRINGS, CA (March 31, 2022) – Richard Arthur Carpentier was killed in a motorcycle accident in Borrego Springs on Friday morning.
The accident happened around 11:09 a.m. on March 25 in the area of Montezuma Valley Road. According to the CHP, Carpentier was riding his motorcycle westbound he crossed into the eastbound lane during a curve in the roadway.
He then slammed into the back of a pickup truck that was towing a trailer.
Carpentier was ejected from his motorcycle and died at the scene. He was a 65-year-old resident of British Columbia, according to the San Diego County Medical Examiner’s Office.
It is unknown if speed, drugs or alcohol were factors in the crash. Further investigation is underway.
