Ray Oberholzer Arrested in Santa Barbara DUI Accident on Highway 101 and Castillo Street

 
SANTA BARBARA, CA (September 14, 2022) — Officials arrested 25-year-old Ray Timothy Oberholzer of Santa Barbara after a DUI car crash on Friday, September 9.
 
According to the Santa Barbara Police, at around 1:30 a.m. they received reports of a solo-car crash.
 
The primary investigation determined a Ford sedan traveled at a high rate of speed while exiting the southbound off-ramp of Highway 101. Then the vehicle tried to turn left onto northbound Castillo Street and crashed with a large retaining wall.
 
Officials believed the driver of the vehicle was under the influence of alcohol at the time of the crash. The driver and the front passenger suffered minor injuries. Moreover, the rear seat passenger had serious injuries. Medics rushed them to the cottage hospital for treatment.
 
The Critical Accident Response Team arrived at the area to handle the investigation.
 
Authorities arrested the driver, Oberholzer, on the scene. They booked him into the Santa Barbara County Jail for felony DUI causing injury. They set his bail at $100,000.
 
The investigation into the crash is still ongoing.
