Small Plane Crashes into Hangar at Long Beach Airport Injuring the Pilot

 
LONG BEACH, CA (July 13, 2023) – A pilot was hurt after a small plane crashed at Long Beach Airport Monday afternoon on July 10.
 
According to a Long Beach Fire Department, crews were dispatched at 2:18 p.m. to the 2900 block of East Spring Street on a report of a single-engine aircraft that crashed into the roof of a hangar. Video from the scene showed the small plane propped upright, sticking out of the hangar roof.
 
The pilot was the only person aboard the plane. He was able to get out of the plane with minor injuries.
 
The pilot was walking about before being taken to the hospital.
 
There was no immediate word on what caused the plane to crash and whether it had just taken off or was attempting to land when the crash occurred.
 
An investigation is underway.
