ST. HELENA, CA (June 6, 2022) — A person in a wheelchair was injured in a hit-and-run pedestrian accident on Main Street at Spring Street on Tuesday night.
 
According to city officials, the hit-and-run accident happened around 9:07 p.m. Under unclear circumstances, a driver in a possible silver Toyota Corolla struck a person in a wheelchair while heading southbound.
 
Subsequently, the driver left the scene, fleeing westbound on Spring Street.
 
Soon after, authorities responded to the scene and learned that the driver struck the pedestrian in a marked crosswalk and had fled after the crash.
 
Due to the victim’s injuries, paramedics brought the individual to Providence Queen of the Valley Medical Center in Napa for care.
