Person Dies in Fresno Bicycle Crash on Shaw Avenue

 
FRESNO, CA (June 27, 2022) — One person died in a bicycle accident on Shaw Avenue at Hayes Avenue on Thursday.
 
According to the Fresno Police, the fatal bicycle crash happened around 9:00 p.m. For unknown reasons, an adult male riding a bicycle rode through the intersection and crashed into an eastbound SUV.
 
Arriving officers investigated the area to learn that the SUV proceeded through the intersection, which holds a stop sign at Hayes Avenue.
 
The driver proceeded to tell officers that the bicyclist tried to stop but continued in its path of travel.
 
The unidentified bicyclist, whom officers described to be in his 20s or early 30s, succumbed to his injuries at the scene.
 
At this time, officers do not believe alcohol precipitated the cause of the crash. However, an ongoing investigation should confirm more details.
