Pedestrian Lying in Road Killed in Accident on Western Avenue near Vernon Avenue

 
LOS ANGELES, CA (December 18, 2023) – A pedestrian died in a hit-and-run on Western Avenue, early Sunday morning.
 
According to the Los Angeles Police Department, the incident happened on December 17, at about 2:05 a.m. For reasons still under investigation, a pedestrian was lying on the street. Then, a vehicle hit the victim near Vernon Avenue.
 
Emergency crews transported the pedestrian to a hospital. However, the victim later succumbed to his injuries. Authorities withheld the identity of the victim, pending notification of next of kin.
 
As per reports, the driver of the vehicle immediately left the area. Witnesses last saw the suspect heading north on Western Avenue.
 
Officers did not disclose the description of the fleeing vehicle and the suspect.
