Amtrak Capitol Corridor Train Fatally Strikes Pedestrian near Chiles Road in Davis

 
DAVIS, CA (September 26, 2021) – A pedestrian died in a train accident near Chiles Road in Davis Wednesday morning.
 
The accident happened around 5:30 a.m. on September 22, along the Capitol Corridor just north of Road 32A. According to the California Highway Patrol, a westbound Amtrak Capitol Corridor passenger train struck the pedestrian in unknown circumstances.
 
CHP officers responded and confirmed the fatality of the accident.
 
Amtrak Train 523 runs between Roseville and San Jose, with a scheduled 5:25 a.m. stop in Davis each weekday.
 
No road closures have been required near the railroad tracks, according to the CHP.
 
At this time, authorities are still investigating the accident.
