Pedestrian Dies after Struck by Hit-and-Run Driver on South Jackson Avenue in San Jose

 
SAN JOSE, CA (June 29, 2022) – A pedestrian was killed in a hit-and-run crash on South Jackson Avenue in San Jose early Tuesday morning, June 28.
 
The fatal crash happened around 4:46 a.m. just between Kammerer Avenue and East San Antonio Street. According to the San Jose Police Department, a black sedan resembling a 2018-2022 Honda Accord was traveling northbound on South Jackson Avenue when it struck the female pedestrian who was crossing the street.
 
After striking the victim, the driver fled the scene.
 
The woman suffered fatal injuries and died at the scene. The Santa Clara County Medical Examiner-Coroner’s Office will release her identity once her family members are notified.
 
An investigation into this fatal crash is underway.
