Woman Fatally Injured after Motorcycle Accident on Highway 108

 
SONORA, CA (June 29, 2022) — A woman suffered fatal injuries following a motorcycle accident on Highway 108 on Tuesday, June 28.
 
According to California Highway Patrol, at around 7:20 a.m., a 57-year-old motorcyclist rode her Harley Davidson westbound on Highway 108 on-ramp. Then she attempted to pass a big rig.
 
After that, she crashed with the right rear end of a 2019 Chevrolet Cruze. The impact ejected the woman from her motorcycle.
 
Medics rushed her to a nearby hospital, where she died from her injuries. Officials have not yet released her identity pending notification of loved ones.
 
CHP said drugs and alcohol were not factors in the incident. Additionally, the victim did not wear a DOT-approved helmet at the time of the crash.
 
The collision is still under investigation.
