Unhoused Woman Dies after Struck by Hit-and-Run Vehicle on Story Road in San Jose

 
SAN JOSE, CA (July 12, 2023) – A pedestrian was killed in a hit-and-run crash at Story Road and South White Road in San Jose on Friday afternoon.
 
The fatal crash happened around 2:25 p.m. on July 7. According to the San Jose Police Department, the victim was pushing a shopping cart and was walking outside of the crosswalk when a vehicle struck her.
 
The driver of the vehicle fled the scene without rendering aid.
 
While the victim was down on the ground, another vehicle struck her. The driver of that vehicle remained at the scene.
 
The victim, only described as an unhoused woman, suffered major injuries and died at the scene.
 
At this time, the hit-and-run suspect remains at large. An investigation is underway.
