Pedestrian Dead after Hit-and-Run Accident on Pacific Coast Highway and Harbor Avenue

 
LONG BEACH, CA (April 22, 2022) — A pedestrian died in a hit-and-run crash on Pacific Coast Highway on Wednesday, April 20.
 
According to the Long Beach Police Department, the incident occurred about 11:35 p.m. at Pacific Coast Highway and Harbor Avenue.
 
The initial investigation determined the female pedestrian walked in an unknown direction in the marked crosswalk at the intersection of the highway and Harbor Avenue. Then a 2002 Toyota Avalon traveling westbound on the highway fatally hit her.
 
The Toyota Avalon subsequently fled the scene. Witnesses last saw it traveling northbound on Santa Fe Avenue, where officers found it parked and unoccupied.
 
Officials did not release the identity of the woman, in her 30s, who they believe to have been homeless.
