Pedestrian Dies after Struck by Several Vehicles on Highway 101 in San Mateo

 
SAN MATEO, CA (October 7, 2023) – A pedestrian was killed in a hit-and-run crash on Highway 101 in San Mateo Thursday morning on October 5.
 
The fatal crash happened around 6:19 a.m. at the Grand Avenue off-ramp. According to the California Highway Patrol, the pedestrian was walking along the southbound lanes of the highway when they were struck by several vehicles.
 
After the crash, the involved vehicles did not stop.
 
The pedestrian suffered fatal injuries and died at the scene. They were not yet identified.
 
CHP officials are still investigating the fatality. They urged motorists who were in the area between 6:19 a.m. and 6:30 a.m. to reach out to them at 415-557-1094 or 707-641-8300.
