Man Dead in Hit-and-Run Crash on Orangeburg Avenue and Nelson Avenue

 
MODESTO, CA (December 5, 2022) — A man suffered fatal injuries in a hit-and-run accident on Orangeburg Avenue on Friday, December 2.
 
According to a Modesto Police Department, the collision happened around 9 p.m. in the area of East Orangeburg Avenue and Nelson Avenue. Officers said a dark-colored SUV or truck headed westbound struck a pedestrian.
 
When officers arrived at the crash site, they found a male lying on the road. Paramedics administered first aid to the man. However, he died at the scene.
 
The Modesto Police Department Traffic Safety Unit also responded to the scene and took over the investigation. They advised motorists to avoid the area.
 
Investigators had not arrested anyone in connection with the case. However, they say they already know who the suspect is.
 
Officers continue to investigate whether drugs or alcohol contributed to the accident.
