Pedestrian Killed in Accident on Highway 101 [San Jose, CA]

Fatal Pedestrian Accident on Highway 101 near Transition Ramp to 280-860 Freeway in San Jose

 
SAN JOSE, CA (June 2, 2022) – A pedestrian was killed in an accident on Highway 101 on Tuesday evening.
 
According to the California Highway Patrol, the incident happened on May 31 at about 9:40 p.m. As per reports, the pedestrian was running across the freeway when a Tesla hit him on the northbound transition ramp to 280-680 Freeway.
 
Emergency crews pronounced the pedestrian dead at the scene. Authorities withheld the identity of the victim, pending notification of next of kin.
 
Responders temporarily closed two lanes of the transition ramp to make way for an investigation.
 
CHP continues to investigate the cause of the fatal accident. Officers will release additional information once it becomes available.
