Wrong-Way Car Crashes Head-On with Semi Truck on Highway 183 in Salinas Killing At Least One
SALINAS, CA (June 1, 2022) – At least one person was killed in a head-on accident on Highway 183 in Salinas on Wednesday.
The accident happened around 12:50 a.m. on June 1 at the intersection with Cooper Road. According to the California Highway Patrol, a Ford Mustang was traveling the wrong way when it collided with a semi truck loading 20 pounds of produce.
The impact sent the Mustang into a field and caught fire.
Officers arrived and confirmed at least one fatality as a result of the accident.
Both vehicles sustained front-end damage.
At this time, it is unknown if speed, drugs or alcohol played a role in the crash. Further investigation is underway.
